Philadelphia, PA − Junio 2, 2025 — Senator Sharif Street, in collaboration with Councilmember Jim Harrity and the Office of Reentry Partnerships, will host a Criminal Justice Reform Policy Forum on Junio 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Philadelphia City Hall in the City Council Caucus Room.

This event brings together lawmakers, community advocates, returning citizens, and public safety officials to address systemic challenges within the criminal justice system and explore actionable reforms.

The forum will highlight critical topics including reentry support, sentencing reform, diversion programs, and community-based solutions to public safety.

“This forum is about working together to discuss ways to build a fairer, safer justice system that values rehabilitation and second chances,” said Senator Sharif Street. “We are proud to bring together leaders and citizens who are committed to driving real change.”

“Second chances aren’t easy—I’ve lived that truth. This forum is about building a justice system that values redemption and prioritizes rehabilitation. Together, we can create real pathways to healing, not just punishment,” said Councilman At-Large Jim Harrity.

“As someone grounded in both lived experience and restorative justice practice, I believe true accountability begins with restoration, not retribution. Reentry isn’t just a return to society—it’s an opportunity for healing, reconnection, and transformation, for both individuals and communities” Assata Thomas, Executive Director, Office of Reentry Partnerships.
