PHILADELPHIA, PA − Noviembre 26, 2019 – On Jueves Noviembre 14th Senator Sharif Street hosted the 39th Annual Street Family Turkey Drive and Giveaway in partnership with Nicetown CDC to deliver 2,380 Turkeys to 119 organizations and 190 individuals including all 44 households on the 3700 Block of N. 15 Street, the recent site of the largest mass shooting of law enforcement in recent Philadelphia History.
A family tradition started by Mayor John Street in the eighties, this marks Senator Street’s third as a sitting state senator and 20th distribution as the principal family member since the end of Mayor Street’s administration. Recipients included first responder families, Clergy, Community leaders, recovery population, faith-based organizations, day cares, schools and a variety of state and locally elected officials.
Sponsors and volunteers included One Day at A Time Recovery Organization, Wells Fargo, Temple University, Fulton Bank, Brown Superstores, Amerihealth Caritas, Independence Blue Cross, Gateway Health, and Einstein Health Systems, New Courtland, Global Advisory Services and Philly Office Retail.
